Citrus- The Golden Sunshine of Winter
I woke up and thought, "Ahh, I love the uplifting happy aroma of Sweet Orange, Lemon, Mandarin & Lemon!" It's really the golden sunshine that shines through the darkness of winter, so today I'd like to share a few thoughts about CITRUS.
How many of us made holiday ornaments by decorating an orange or lemon with dried clove spikes? Did you ever get an orange, mandarine or clementine in your Christmas stocking? Have you had mulled cider or wine with sweet citrus flavors? Love candied oranges?
Lemon tea cakes, Bergamot earl gray tea, Mandarin cookies and baskets with a cornucopia of citrus are all holiday staples, frequently shared during the holidays and thought the dark season of winter. Have you ever wondered why???
- Bergamot is famous for its ability to both lift the darkest mood and also ease and calm the franticly stressed & manic mind.
- Sweet orange has been used for centuries as a digestive aid. (Aren't the holidays a perfect environment for this little golden globe’s juice to come to our aid with all of the overeating and digestive issues that can happen?)
- Mandarin and its close relative the clementine have important vitamins and minerals that help fight off colds, and have been showing up in the stockings hung with care ever since that magic Criss Kringle has been visiting down the chimney.
That's Why! Citrus, these little orbs of sunshine have been helping us through our darkest days and nights throughout history.
That's why this winter, in Aromatic Vitality's Botanical Beauty Box, we brought together many of these valuable essential oils. There is the uplifting body butter with its happy warm scent of sweet orange and benzoin designed to nourish and refresh your skin. Enjoy the many benefits of a Bergamot bath bomb with moisturizing jojoba oils for a scented, soothing soak. Get into the holiday mood with a few spritzes of our Mandarin & Clove Holiday Mist. Lather up with the lovely Lavender Honey soap. All of these citrus essential oils have refreshingly lovely yet distinctly different scents Try blending them with cinnamon, clove, peppermint, pine, ginger, myrrh or lavender for even more aromatic holiday bliss!
Enjoy!

**A few words of wisdom, always use respect and caution whenever using essential oils. Seek professional guidance. If you have animals make sure they have a way to leave the room you are using essential oils in. Many of the essential oils humans enjoy are toxic to animals, especially cats.
